2012 Registration is Now Open!

7th and 8th grade is now at capacity.  Please follow the instructions for registration, 2012 Player Registration and then register to the "Wait List" catagory.  You will not be charged.  You will be contacted by the registrar is a spot opens up.

In recognition of tough economic times, we have extended our $100 late fee to June 4, 2012.  Please take advange of this and register now.  First equipment issue is on June 2, 2012.

Registration begins April 1, 2012 through June 4, 2012.  Fees are $245 plus an additional $25 refundable equipment deposit which is returned at the end of the season.  Late registration runs from June 5, 2012 until June 15, 2012. A late fee of $100 will be charged in addition to the participation costs.

Who is eligible to play Tigard Youth Football? Anyone 3rd-8th grade residing in the Tigard High School boundaries or attending private school in Tigard (Alberta Rider, Durham and Twality families click here to view the boundary map. Deer Creek and most of Alberta Rider are in the boundaries of Tualatin High School).

Youth Football Camp
Tigard High School will host its youth football camp August 13th-August 16th from 9-11am. All TYF players are encouraged to attend. Players will practice within their assigned teams and positions. Players will practice in full pads. Camp does not take the place of evening practices. You can register for the camp while signing up for the 2012 season. Costs for the camp are listed below.

• April 1 - June 8 $70
• June 9 - August 1 $75
• August 2 - August 13 $80

Cost if more than one player in the same family

• April 1 - June 8 $130
• June 9 - August 1 $140

THS Skills Development Clinics

Offered by the Tigard High School coaching staff these FREE youth clinics are open to all current 2nd-8th grade students in the Tigard community.  The clinics are held on Sunday evenings at the THS in either the gymnasium or on the turf (weather dependent).  No registration is required.

Below is this year's schedule and the specific times for each grade level.

Congratulations to Coach Chabreck and Coach Lange

Ross Yarnell Assistant Coach Award

Congratulations to Assistant Coach Tom Chabreck!  Coach Chabreck was awarded the Ross Yarnell Assistant Coach Award for his passion and dedication to Tigard Youth Football, the players and his fellow coaches. The 2010 recipient of this award, Coach Damon Vickers, presents Chabreck with the award. The award is named after Ross Yarnell, a Tigard Youth Football Assistant Coach, who lost his battle with ALS earlier this year.  Ross was a father, coach, mentor, teacher, and friend.  Ross would be proud that this award would be given to a loyal and deserving Assistant Coach for their valuable contributions to the Tigard Youth Football program.

Wellnitz Award

The Wellnitz award is voted on by the coach's peers with them evaluating the coach for his ablility to get his players, parents and staff to conduct themselves in a positive manner.  Also as a role model and mentor for young players while teaching sportsmanship, teamowrk and "respect for the game".  The award is named for the son of Bob Wellnitz (Portland Football Officals Association-Commissioner), Kirk Wellnitz, who lost his life while on a training mission off the Oregon Coast as a member of our Air National Guard.  These Coaches need to be held in the highest regard for the great things they do to make each of our communities better.  This year we congratulate Varsity Coach Jim Lange for winning a Wellnitz Award! 

Buy a Brick and Raise the Score

Buy a customized brick to commemorate your student's time at Tigard High School while raising money towards the improvement of the Tigard High School scoreboards and displays.   

The Tigard Athletic Boosters are personalizing the bricks of Spirit Walkway alongside the turf field of the Football Stadium.  The cost of a brick is $50 and includes 2-3 lines of text plus an emblem representing many of the different THS student activities.  One can also purchase additional emblems for inscription on their brick for a total cost of $75. 

Capture the name of your THS graduate, thank a favorite teacher or coach or just show support for Tigard High School.  All orders received by May 1, 2011 will be completed prior to June graduation.  Those received after this date, will be done by August 1, 2011.
